The Allen Village Community Development Corporation is a 501 (c3) non-profit organization formed to help improve the residents in our community which was formed in 2013 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Cynthia D. Jackson. To give a little background we are located in the South Ward of Newark, New Jersey. Our neighborhood was devastated in the rebellions of 1968 and to date there has been little redevelopment in the area. It is a neighborhood plagued by high crime, functional illiteracy, drug addiction, unemployment and underemployment, proliferation of liquor stores, transitional housing and food insecurity. It is our mission to help transform the lives of our residents in a positive and meaningful way

The Allen Village established a food pantry which operates on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturday of each month as well as provides emergency food assistance as needed. We provide fresh produce, meats, non-perishable foods, diapers and feminine hygiene products to individuals and families.
We offer these much needed food baskets to individuals and families who may run out of resources towards the end of the month and have no where to turn for assistance. In order to access the food pantry, you must have a Government ID, Social Security Card or Proof of Residency.
Please consider volunteering your time, talent and treasures to help us serve an underserved community. The South ward of Newark has been recognized as a community suffering from food insecurity, high unemployment, high crime and is plagued by homelessness and drug addiction.
We are here to help transform this neighborhood into a safe, thriving neighborhood and we need your help. We are stronger together. Won’t you sign up today?
As time goes on, there seems to be more misinformation spreading faster in our communities than this horrific disease. We provide helpful information as well as necessary resources to help you navigate through these trying times so you can make informed decisions.
We will provide COVID-19 testing locations and vaccination information once we receive it. You can always email us to be added to our mailing list so you are kept up to date.
The Allen Village CDC provides much needed services for the entire family. We offer literacy classes and GED preparation along with resume writing. We sponsor hiring events for local employers. We also host COVID-19 testing clinics and vaccination information once we receive it.
Your financial support helps to bring much-needed change in people’s lives whom we help on a daily basis. Your donations can be designated for a specific program or can be used for our management and overhead costs.
